This website has been planned and developed by an Italian ex-EVS volunteer (see Credits) throughout a Future Capital Project – Action 3 YOUTH Program 2000-2006.

WHAT IS “EX-PERIENCE IN NETWORK”?

“EX-perience in Network” is a virtual place where:
• ex-EVS volunteers can share their own experience of European Volunteer Service (EVS) with other ex-EVS volunteers or as well as people who have not done it

• sending and hosting organisations can share documents and good practice of work in EVS projects, as organisations that have to prepare and support future EVS volunteers to be sent or EVS volunteers to be hosted

• youngsters and adults who do not know anything about the EVS and the YOUTH Program (Youth in Action Program since 1st January 2007) can take a look in this web site in order to obtain more information directly from whom experienced EVS as volunteer or from sending and hosting organisations, in other words people who have to manage EVS projects.

There still does not exist in Italy a unique association or organisation named in a formal way by the Italian National Agency and that can represent into a national level all the ex-EVS volunteers. When I wrote down the project I thought of gathering the ex- or present EVS volunteers and the organisations which are working in this field. The “EX-perience in Network”’s web site would be a national point of reference for those categories.
If the “EX-perience in Network” project has positive results in the national level, I would like to extend it to a European level.

For these reasons, the people who can participate actively to the project by doing blogs, writing messages in the forum and chat are:
- the Italian volunteers have been sent or are waiting to be sent to Europe
- the European volunteers have done, are doing or are waiting to do their EVS in Italy
- the social and youth workers working for Italian sending and hosting organisations.

HOW IS THE WEB SITE ORGANISED?

In this web site you can find interactive tools like:
• the help desk section where the young people who want to do EVS can receive support from ex-EVS volunteers and/or sending (S.O.) and hosting organisations (H.O.)

• the chat (between the menu at the left side called “2 chiacchiere”) where everybody can keep in touch with ex-EVS volunteers and S.O. or H.O.

• the blogs (between the menu at the left side called “Esperienze”) can be created only by ex-EVS volunteers: they can put 10 photos that represent their own EVS experience and some brief text to talk about it.

Moreover, in the “Proposals” section (called “Proposte”) the volunteers and the organisations who want to propose activities and projects to develop in the EVS frame could leave their ideas and messages over there in the forum.

Finally, the section dedicated to the professional tools (called “Strumenti di supporto”) is for the youth and social workers that work in S.O. or H.O. who want to share documents and methodologies of work in order to improve their own actions in EVS projects.
